Grief

Grief is weird. We all have past experiences that shape who we are today. But, grief has done the most to change me personally.

I’ve walked this journey before. I’ve had to face Continue reading “Grief”

Plunged into darkness…

Many fertility medications require a strict timing. This had made for some interesting predicaments in past cycles since Chris has given me most of the shots.

The progesterone shots have wiggle room but consistency is the best rule. We chose 9PM as a good time for us. Unfortunately, tonight the electric went out. So, I had my first shot illuminated by the light on my phone. And, the first night I have a new heated pad, I have no electric 🤷🏼‍♀️ All you can do is laugh!

I love math!

But, pregnancy math is on the same level as toilet paper and paper towel math for me.

With the knowledge of when our embryo will be transferred, we can estimate when my due date long before we actually transfer Timon The Embryo. It’s not official but an online calculator. It does factor in that our embryos are already 5 days old. Frozen in time in 2016.

So, transfer is slated for July 25. Timon is 5 days old. And, somehow I’m 1 week pregnant today. But, I’m not. ‘Cause pregnancy math is weird.

July Recipes (& update)

As always, summer is flying by! So fast, in fact, we didn’t manage to try any new recipes in June. But, we weren’t going to let that happen for July! Chris used a bread pan he received as a gift that is specially made to make sandwich bread. He found a delicious recipe but forgot to put the top on during the backing. Oops! It still tasted delicious!

For a game night with friends, we made Muddy Buddies. Chris had never made it before, and Jessica had only tried making once as a child. It doesn’t quite look right but still tastes so yummy!

In addition to making a few new recipes, Chris finished his first class back to college. He’s looking forward to fall semester but is glad he has a few weeks off before it all starts.

Jessica took on summer school this year. It definitely was a challenge, but she’s glad she took it on this year. She is also glad to have a few weeks off before the 2017-2018 school year starts. She’ll have a new challenge this year as she changes schools and will begin teaching science in addition to math. Jessica is excited for all the new adventures to come.

We have a big day planned for tomorrow, and we can’t to share all about it later this week.

**We are hoping to adopt a newborn. If you or someone you know has decided to place a child for adoption, learn more about us here.**

Day 46: My Person

My Person. This makes us think of Meredith and Christina on Grey’s Anatomy. We’d pick each other! 🙂 Everyone needs that one person who will let you know you are talking crazy, who you can let loose with and know you won’t be judged, who will push you to be the best version of yourself. We spent our 14th Valentine’s Day together yesterday. It was one of the best we ever had just hanging out together. We are looking forward to many more.
